Suples USA electrified the International Wrestling Community & re-wrote history at the prestigious Cadet Level, Dinko Petrov International Memorial Tournament at Stara Zagora, Bulgaria on April 7, 2012.  A powerful field of some of the best Teams in the World converged for this fourth meeting, with 9 Countries (Russia, The United States of America, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, European Union, Cyprus, Serbia-Kosovo), and 26 International Teams.

In a word, Suples Team USA “stunned” the International Wrestling Community & made our Country Proud!  When the dust settled, Suples USA accounted for 4 Gold Medals, 1-Silver, 1-Bronze, & 1-4th Place Finish AND won the “Outstanding Wrestler Trophies” in both Olympic Styles of Greco-Roman & Freestyle Wrestling.  As a Team, that is what we work harder than the best, to Earn our “Right” to be “Suples Strong…”

Continuing Our Powerful Legacy

On August 2-17, 2012, YOU can be a Member of the Suples USA Team to journey on an exciting & powerful Developmental Training & Competition Focused Tour to Bulgaria, & Turkey.  Team Suples USA by virtue of its growing international stature, has been personally invited by the “Sports Club Dimitrovgrad (see photo below);” one of the top ranked Youth Wrestling Teams in the World,  to serve as our Host & Home base at Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria.

Dimitrovgrad, located close to the Provincial Capital Haskovo, a modern industrial center; is remarkable for its stylish architecture, which met the standards of the Roman Empire, with spacious streets and large parks. It is one of the greenest cities in Bulgaria, & was built by the Bulgarian Youth.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqWwriP23Hc

In powerful combination with Training & Dual Meet Competitions, outreach tours to the spectacular “City of Tzars,” thought to be unassailable & the strongest Bulgarian Fortification Fortress of the Middle Ages between the 12th and 14th century; on 17 July 1393, after vigorous resistance to a three-month siege, Veliko Tarnovo was seized and the whole Bulgarian Empire was destroyed by the Turkish Ottoman Empire.  Veliko Tarnovo was the most important political, economic, cultural and religious centre, which is re-known as the historical Capital of the “Second Bulgarian Empire.” From there,a peaceful retreat to Ivan Radnev Ivanov’s Birthplace at Gurkovo, Bulgaria; & a beautifully hosted traditional Bulgarian Barbecue by his wonderful Parents (Nedka & Rodnei Ivanov) & Family.

Our competition tour will then advance to Ohrid, Turkey. Ohrid is  noted as the seventh largest city in the Republic of Macedonia, & is notable for having once had 365 churches, one for each day of the year, & has been referred to as a "Jerusalem". The Ohrid city is rich in picturesque houses and monuments, and tourism is predominant.  According to recent excavations by Macedonian archaeologists, it was a town way back at the time of king Phillip II of Macedon (the father of Alexander the Great and Philip III).

As we near completing our Training & Competition focused tours, we journey to Stara Zagora, Bulgaria to re-kindle the fuel for our Dual Meet Rivalry with our powerful Host Wrestling Club “Bepoe;” for next years Dinko Petrov International Memorial Tournament, which the Suples USA Team dominated.  We will be empowered to test the medal of our tours technical training, & measure the progress made by each of our wrestlers at an international level; that will again be applied strongly to our advantage once we return home to America.

Finally we travel to the heart stopping, energized City of Varna for rest & recovery, which is the third largest City of Bulgaria. Varna is “the” internationally famous seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast (This photo I took while Para-Sailing above Varna:-).   Commonly referred to as the marine (or summer) capital of Bulgaria, Varna is a major tourist destination, business and university centre, seaport, and headquarters of the Bulgarian Navy.

As I have said before, there has never been a perfectly planned trip that always went perfect, unless “WE” as a TEAM make it so.  Be a vital part of a Winning Team; & create memories & friendships for life.  Team Suples USA is limited to the first twenty-five (25) Wrestlers to commit. Coaches/Parents/Siblings are welcome above that number.  The total cost of the Tour is $3,000.00 per person + Uniforms & Gear.  This amount pays for Airfare originating from Advance Preparation Camp in Boise, Lodging & Meals.  The initial Deposit Deadline (April 25, 2012) to reserve your spot on the required Team Roster is $1,600.00 + $100.00 for the exclusive Suples USA Competition Uniform.
